Stuart's Tutorial

On the 5 August we welcome Stuart Watkinson for 4 sessions, a favourite tutor who has been visiting us regularly over the years. He will be doing watercolour paintings with the following subjects:

1. Water running into a stone basin

2. An Indian woman in a saree

3. People on a beach

4. A cat with flowers (using clingfilm as a way of manipulating the paint

The first week he will be doing Water Running into a Stone Basin. Please bring your watercolours, and some masking fluid.

 Following last weeks session on portrait construction this next week the  22 July Tony Barrow’s subject on Tuesday will be a beautiful seascape.  

It looks to be challenging but interesting.  

Tony Barrow is with us - his first week of 4 from the 8 July.

Normally Tony uses acrylics but this time he is using watercolours. 

The course will cover landscapes, seascapes, flowers, portraiture, the urban etc.

Week 2, 15 July will cover a study on portraits

Turner’s work try to evoke a sense of mood and emotion, rather than simply focusing on a purely realistic representation of Venice.

Turner utilized a wide range of colours, often creating a sense of vibrancy and movement through the interplay of light and shadow.

His paintings often depict Venice as a romantic and theatrical place, emphasizing its grandeur and beauty.
