About Roe Green Art Club, Worsley

Roe Green Art Club is a friendly group which meets in the Beesley Green Community Centre on Greenleach Lane, Roe Green on Tuesdays between 1 pm and 3 pm.

Our members love drawing and painting, and range from beginner upwards.  We welcome new members who can just 'fit in' at their own level.  We use a wide variety of materials and everyone is provided with paper and a board to work on every week.  We have a stock cupboard with basic painting  materials for the beginner, and new members can use these for a couple of weeks until they decide whether they would like to join the club.

Attending the club makes Tuesday afternoon so enjoyable; we relax and give ourselves a rest from any worries that we may have.  Even though we are relaxed, our minds are also active learning new art skills.

We have a programme of visiting tutors who do a 4 week course: this is when we learn new art techniques with different media(we don't just do watercolour).  In between each 4-week course we have 2 social weeks: this is when we practise and try to improve our skills.  During our social weeks members chat with each other,  exchange opinions, and make new friends.  This beats sitting at home any day.

Currently the (weekly) costs are: tutor weeks £5, social weeks £3, and there is an annual subscription of £20. The first two weeks for new members are free of charge.

We hope this introduction will encourage you to become involved and we may see you at our club soon. If you want to contact the club, please email: roegreenartclub@gmail.com.

The venue contact details can be found to the left of this page, and directions can be found by clicking on the tab  'How to find us'.
